Notes: Now this is nice, a tribute to a band that has been close to me all my life, and has remained one of my favorites. I grew up listening to The Doors (among other great rock bands - though The Doors are one of the few I remember specifically hearing in my infancy). Even to this day, when I listen to The Doors, their unique and poetic sound brings me back to my childhood vacations at the lake.

Like one time, I was out on the lake on a boat with my brothers and my uncle and my grampa, and we could tell that a storm was approaching. So we quit swimming and got back in the boat, and headed back to our dock, hoping to get there before the storm broke. Well, it started hailing a bit as we sped back to our dock, and in the process we lost one of our inflatable inner tubes (designed to look like a tire) that was blown toward a private shore (I don't think we ever saw it again). When we got to the dock, it was getting pretty dark and it had started to rain. My uncle and grampa tied down the boat while my brothers and I ran up the hill to our rented cottage. Noone was home. We decided to run to the cottage next door where our gramma was staying, but halfway there, we encountered my parents' familiar van in the road. They had just come back from doing some shopping nearby. Spotting us, the van stopped, and we hopped in to get out of the rain, and on the car radio the song Riders on the Storm was playing. I'll never forget that moment.

Looking through this playlist, it looks like I did a good job of mixing some of the more popular favorites with some lesser known gems I am fond of. Being the middle of September (and my last show before the autmunal equinox), Summer's Almost Gone was a fitting end to this show.
